The Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Foundation (OLBCF) proudly announces that it has received grant funding from The George Gund Foundation for 2026 operating support. This investment will help sustain and strengthen OLBCF’s work to advance equity, justice, and opportunity for Black communities across Cuyahoga County and throughout Ohio.
OLBCF is grateful to The George Gund Foundation Board of Trustees, President Tony Richardson, and Program Director Treye Johnson for their leadership and commitment to equitable policy and legislative practices. At a time when many organizations and institutions are reassessing or scaling back equity-focused initiatives, this support reflects a meaningful commitment to advancing fair and inclusive policies that benefit communities across Ohio.
“We are deeply grateful to The Gund Foundation for this investment in OLBCF’s mission,” said President Shayla L. Davis. “At a time when many institutions are pulling back from equity-focused work, this support affirms the importance of staying committed to policies and advocacy that expand opportunity and justice. We hope this leadership encourages additional philanthropic and financial institutions to continue supporting efforts that strengthen equity and opportunity for Black communities and all Ohioans.”
This operating support will allow OLBCF to continue serving as a trusted voice in policy, research, and advocacy while deepening community engagement and advancing strategic solutions to systemic barriers facing Black Ohioans.
