OLBCF Welcomes Monica L. Womack to Board of Directors

The Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Monica L. Womack, a respected strategic advisor and advocate for economic equity, to its Board of Directors.

With more than two decades of experience advancing inclusive economic development, Womack brings deep expertise in building systems that empower historically under-resourced businesses and communities. She is the Founder and CEO of MLW Solutions, LLC, where she leads innovative initiatives to address structural and financial barriers to growth.

Prior to launching MLW Solutions, Womack served as Chief of the State of Ohio’s Minority Business Development Division, leading statewide efforts to expand business certifications, increase access to capital, and deliver robust technical assistance, impacting thousands of entrepreneurs across Ohio.

“I served Ohioans for the past three years as the Chief of the Minority Business Development Division, and now, as a business owner, serving as a board member of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus Foundation will allow me to bring that same passion to Black Ohioans,” said Monica L. Womack.

Womack is widely recognized for her ability to build cross-sector partnerships that drive measurable and lasting change across both public and private ecosystems. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management and a Master of Public Administration, both from Franklin University.

OLBCF President Shayla L. Davis celebrated the appointment, saying:

Womack’s leadership strengthens OLBCF’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that Black Ohioans not only withstand today’s economic challenges but thrive in the opportunities of tomorrow.
